Dry brushing

Ever wondered why you so often see body brushes in the bodyshop, farmers or other beauty places? Well they can be incredibly good for, especially if you sue them regularly.

I have only really recently been getting into dry brushing, I do it as part of my daily body boost. It has been around since ancient times, but more and more it is being used today. Often you might even see it on a spa menu, but there is no need to splash out, (unless you want to) because you can get the same experience in the comfort of your home without the cost!

Dry brushing is basically brushing your skin before you shower. It helps remove dead skin cells and increase blood flow, support lymphatic drainage clear pores and its incredible for energizing the body as well as a great way to enhance detoxification. I always feel energized on the mornings when I dry brush, better than any coffee!

 

How to Dry Brush

Dry brushing can be done daily, preferably in the morning before showering or having a bath.

Before jumping in the shower I start at the base of my body and begin by brushing my feet. I go in circular motions and move my way up the body.

Once I have gone over the body 3-4 times I then jump in the shower. If I really want to feel even more energized I will spend the last 3-4 minutes of that shower cold. Great for waking you up and really energizing the body.

Follow with some yummy oils or body butter and have a fabulous day ahead.
